In light of current events, Costa Rica is preparing a new ad aimed at attracting U.S. tourists. We’ve obtained exclusive footage of the new commercial, which you can watch below:

Obviously, we made this video in jest after watching the appalling footage from Washington D.C. on Wednesday afternoon.

Costa Rica has long considered itself a peaceful democracy. The country has no army and since 1950 has experienced a level of political stability that is nearly unequaled across Latin America.

Yesterday’s events in the United States are a reminder that maintaining a healthy democracy requires work. As Costa Rica faces an economic crisis and approaches a presidential election of its own, the country cannot take peace and stability for granted.
