CRC Daily: Airlines launch new flights to Costa Rica
It's easier than ever to fly to Costa Rica from the U.S. West Coast.
While the coronavirus pandemic isn’t over, several airlines are demonstrating their confidence in Costa Rica by launching flights to the Central American country.
Here’s the latest on all the new flights so far in 2021:
United Airlines has launched two new direct flights from the U.S. West Coast to Liberia, Guanacaste (LIR): Los Angeles (LAX) to Guanacaste, and San Francisco to Guanacaste.
United Airlines has also resumed its direct flight from Chicago (ORD) to LIR.
KLM has resumed its direct flight from Amsterdam to LIR.
Delta Air Lines has resumed its direct flight from Los Angeles (LAX) to LIR.
WestJet has resumed its service between Costa Rica (LIR) and Calgary, Canada (YYC).
Carlos Granados, United Airlines’ manager for Costa Rica, said the country is a top destination for U.S. visitors.
“Costa Rica, and particularly Guanacaste, is one of the preferred destinations for international tourists,” he said. “United Airlines celebrates the opening of new routes from two cities as important economically and touristically for the country as San Francisco and Los Angeles.”
