My sister who was being treated for cervical cancer at the time, was one of the very unfortunate patients to be over radiated. She died from her wounds in Aug 1997. Not only did this fatal error cause the deaths and injuries of so many people, it also made these patients suffer very painful and horrifying deaths. My sister was only 40 years old. I hope that such an accident never happens again in Costa Rica or anywhere else.
