Buenos tardes y Pura Vida mae, Regarding the pending legislation encouraging retirees, (like my wife & I) quoted below;

"What about Costa Rica’s plans to attract retirees?

A bill seeks to lower the investment requirement to apply for Costa Rica residency from $200,000 to $150,000. In addition, people making a qualifying investment would be allowed to import household items and a vehicle without paying import taxes......."

We wonder if there is included any consideration being given that would allow us, as Retirees moving to Costa Rica to buy a new vehicle inside Costa Rica and waive the Import Taxes??? I would rather put that money into the hands of a Tico, instead of some dealership in Texas.
